I have trouble understanding how to approach this problem, if anyone can help that would be greatly appreciated.
we are given that:
CH3OH(l)->enthalpy of formation:-239KJ/mol, Temperature of vapor pressure of 100 torr: 21.2 C,boiling point:64.6 C, Flash point:-11 C,Density at 25 C:0.787 g/ml, Octane rating:106, Caution:toxic
isooctane->enthalpy of formation:-255.1KJ/mol, Temperature of vapor pressure of 100 torr: 40.7 C, boiling point:99.3 C, Flash point:-12 C, Density at 25 C:0.692 g/ml, Octane rating:100, Caution:toxic
it then asks
determine the enthalpy of conbustion of methanol and octane
a)per liter of fuel
b)per gram of fuel
I have no clue where to start, if anyone can help that would be greatly appreciated
